Pit Toilets Project

We are grateful for the grants received from "Outdoor Recreation Council of BC’’, ATVBC and ORV Fund

The funding received will support two major projects for this season: "Trail Maintenance & Brushing" and "Construction & Installation of Pit Toilets".

The trail network surrounding the townsite of Wells is frequented by an outdoor recreation community that includes residents and visitors from abroad. The ongoing work on trail maintenance is crucial in keeping our visitors safe.

The construction of pit toilets to provide basic facilities for trail users, along with the rental of brushing equipment to keep trails clear, safe, and accessible, would support the Wells, Barkerville, and the region’s tourism sector as a whole.

This project continues to diversify outdoor recreation in our local region, both for summer and winter use.

Thank you to our dedicated members for volunteering to build the three pit toilets to be installed at specific locations on the trails around Wells this summer.

Thanks to funding received from ORCBC, ATVBC & ORV Fund, we can complete this project.
